Ashleigh Fuson
Co-director & Educator
Ashleigh has over 20 years of childcare experience in childcare centers and home daycares. She has volunteered extensively with all ages of children and youth at the Unitarian Church of Lincoln. She currently serves part time as the Director of Child/Youth Religious Education at Second Unitarian Church of Omaha.
Ashleigh attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha where she graduated from the College of Education with a degree in Library Science. An amateur author, her experience includes library work in Lincoln, La Vista, and UNO’s archival library, as well as work as a reviewer of children’s literature.
Originally from Harrisonburg, Virginia, Ashleigh moved to Lincoln in 2010. She lives with her husband, three sons, two cats, and a dog. On the occasion that she finds herself with free time she enjoys walking in the forest, learning to paint, singing, listening to true crime podcasts and reading.
Co-Director & Founder
Christina founded Teach Peace Preschool & Childcare in 2025 after operating Strong Family Child Care (a licensed in-home daycare) for nearly 13 years. She spent ten years employed as the Preschool Coordinator at the Unitarian Church of Lincoln, and six years as Director of Child & Family Programs at First Unitarian Church of Omaha. She's been employed by Lincoln Public Schools as a Mentor of Highly Gifted Students at the elementary and middle school levels, and spent two years as an AmeriCorps Member providing early literacy activities in LPS preschool classrooms.
Christina grew up visiting Lincoln regularly and moved here during high school. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Psychology, and completed several years of graduate work in Sociology, also at UNL. Christina is a lifelong learner, and continually adds to her understanding of early childhood development and education through the professional development classes available to childcare providers in Nebraska.
Christina and her husband serve as residential caregivers for an adult foster child, and have four children of their own, ranging in age from 14 to 26 years. Their family also includes two cats, a dog, four grandcats, one granddog, and a frog. Christina enjoys reading, hiking, camping, travel, Legos, papercrafts, and spending time with her family.
Tina Strong
Toddler & Preschool Educator
Tina Strong is a lifelong Lincoln resident. She worked at Strong Family Child Care for five years before joining the staff of Teach Peace. She plans to pursue her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential this fall.
Tina studied hiphop and modern dance for 6 years, and has taken classes in a variety of visual art mediums. She brings vibrant energy to the classroom and enjoys sharing her love of music, dance, and art with toddlers and preschoolers.
